What this site collects, why, and for how long. It is a short list.
The short version
This site sets no cookies, loads no third-party resources, and runs no analytics or tracking of any kind. There are no accounts, so there is nothing to sign up for and no email address to give us.
The only personal data processed is what any web server unavoidably records in order to serve and defend itself: your IP address in the access log. That is kept for 14 days and then deleted by log rotation.
That is also why you are not being asked to click a cookie banner. Consent banners exist for non-essential cookies and similar storage; there aren't any here.
What is logged, and why

These logs are not used to build a profile, are not combined with anything else, are never sold, and are not shared with anyone except where we would be legally compelled to. No automated decision-making or profiling in the GDPR sense takes place.
Your theme preference stays in your browser
If you use the light/dark toggle, that single choice is saved in your browser's
localStorage under the key ntld-theme. It is never
transmitted to the server, so we cannot see it. Clearing your site data removes it.
It exists only to carry out something you explicitly asked for, which is why it needs no consent prompt. Nothing else is stored on your device.
The published statistics contain no personal data
This deserves stating plainly, because domain-name data often does contain personal information and this site is deliberately built so that it does not.
- No registrant data, ever. Nothing here identifies who owns a domain. The site publishes counts and aggregates only.
- No domain names are stored. The name lists used to compute daily additions and deletions live on disk for two days and are then deleted. There is no searchable index and no endpoint that returns names.
- Registrars appear as organisations. We store the organisation name, IANA ID, country of accreditation and website. ICANN also publishes registrar contact names, emails and phone numbers; those are deliberately not collected.

Where the data lives
The site runs on Amazon Web Services in the US West (Oregon) region. If you are in the UK or EEA, that means the log entry containing your IP address is processed in the United States. AWS acts as our processor under its GDPR data processing addendum, which incorporates the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
There are no other processors. No analytics provider, CDN, ad network, tag manager, font service or embedded widget receives anything about your visit, because none is used.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or EEA you have the right to access, correct or erase your personal data, to object to processing based on legitimate interest, and to complain to your data protection authority.
In practice there is very little to act on: the only record of you is a log line containing your IP, which is deleted within 14 days regardless. If you want it removed sooner, or want to know whether anything is held, write to privacy@ntlddata.com — include the approximate date and the IP address you used, since without them there is no way to find the entry.
This site is operated from the State of Oregon, United States. Disputes about these practices are subject to Oregon law, which does not displace data protection rights you hold where you live.
Changes
If this site ever starts collecting more than it does today — analytics, accounts, or anything embedded from a third party — this page will be updated first and the change described here rather than quietly made. The commitment worth holding us to is the one in the first section: no cookies, no third-party resources, no tracking.

Data currency. Domain counts on this page are from zone files dated and refresh daily. Registrar figures are from ICANN's monthly registry reports for April 2026, which ICANN publishes about three months in arrears; zone files contain no registrar information, so no fresher source exists.
